A photograph and a ceramic object can invite different kinds of looking. Elemental Vision brings those media together at Meridian’s Initial Point Gallery, featuring photographs by members of the Boise Camera Club and ceramics by Mandy Henebry.
The exhibition is listed through Thursday, October 29. The gallery is on the third floor of City Hall at 33 East Broadway Avenue and is free to visit during weekday hours of 8 a.m.–5 p.m., excluding holidays. Check current building access before making a special trip; the September reception and artist talks have already passed.

The city describes work inspired by nature and the elements. Try spending time with one image and one object rather than making a quick circuit of the room. Notice how surface, light, scale or a change in viewing angle affects your response, and use the labels to connect each piece with its maker.
You do not need to settle on one interpretation to enjoy the visit. Compare what first caught your attention with what became interesting after a longer look. A short gallery stop can change the way an ordinary texture or landscape detail appears on the walk back outside.
